St Flannan's Catholic Parish Join with us as we journey together, uncovering the wonder of God in our lives.

About US

The area in which St Flannan's Parish is situated was once beautiful rainforest country and home to the Turrbul (stone) tribe of this region.  We recognise  their long history and the care they gave to this land for thousands of years.

Parish Involvement

We come together to share our God-given gifts for the enhancement of our Parish life. Everyone is welcome to make their contribution to the many opportunities offered by our Parish.

Sacraments

Believed to have been ordained by Christ and that is held to be a means of divine grace or to be a sign or symbol of a spiritual reality.

Baptism

The first sacrament where we become united with Christ and the Church – no other sacrament can be received without it. A priest performs this rite by pouring water over the baptismal candidate, therefore cleansing their original sin through water and the word.

Children's Sacramental Preparation

St Flannan's Catholic Parish offers parish-based, family-centred sacramental preparation for children.

Marriage

A church is the appropriate venue for the wedding of those who believe in Christ and who which to celebrate publicly God's blessing of their union with the Sacrament of Marriage.

Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament provides a special grace from God. Enabling the sick or aged person to experience the healing and strength of Jesus Christ.

Pastoral Care of the Dying

The last rites of the Catholic Church do not usually include the sacrament of anointing.

Funeral

When a Christian dies, the community gathers for a funeral.
