The Sacristan’s role is to set up for Mass including arrangement of the liturgical books, vestments, vessels and other items necessary for celebration of the liturgy.
The Sacristan also coordinates the cleaning up and closing up after Mass.
New sacristans receive training and guidelines to follow and are supported in the role.
